Wish it, dream it, do it!

Wednesday September 1, 2010 | Precious Memories

It’s been ten years! Ten years since I moved away from my dear family and friends in the Netherlands. The goal was trying to live and work in another country for one year and if it didn’t work out I could just move back again. Never before had I been to Norway and the Norwegian language sounded just as familiar to me as Chinese Smile

In ten years I have learned a loooooooooooooooot and I have seen a loooooooooooooot!
I got to know a lot of new people here and I got to know myself as well! I enjoyed living here so much that I stayed a little longer.

Living in another country makes you realise where you come from and makes you think about the pros and the cons of your own country and the one you moved to. It makes you see things you never would have thought about if you would have stayed in the same place all the time. It has never been one of my dreams to move outside of the Netherlands, but it is absolutely something I wouldn’t want to miss!

And talking about dreams… from now on I am a photographer!!!
This has been my dream for many years now and I decided not to dream about it anymore, but to just DO IT!
I’m moving back to the Netherlands in a few days to live together with my sweety after 2 years of traveling to see each other, I’m selling all my furniture and I quit my very secure and meaningful job.

Yesterday was my last day working at the Radiumhospital and it felt a little strange to say goodbye to everyone I worked with for such a long time. I’m not going to walk the same hallway again which I walked through at least twice every day and I’m not going to wear my lovely pink shoes anymore Smile

I’m going to start all over again, looking oh-so forward to it and yes… dreams do come true!
