Deze workshop was echt waanzinnig! Zach and Jody Gray van Gray photography kwamen helemaal uit Amerika naar Den Haag om ons fotografen alles te leren over externe belichting de eerste dag en marketing de tweede dag. Ook al gebruik ik grotendeels alleen daglicht bij het fotograferen van mijn onderwerpen, dacht ik dat het wel heel erg goed zou zijn als ik wat meer weet over het gebruik van softboxen, lichtmeters, accu’s etc. Niet alleen was dit heel erg goed, het was ook heel erg leuk! Alle foto’s zijn gemaakt midden op de dag, ook al lijken sommigen in het donker gemaakt te zijn!
Ik had gepland om alleen bij de eerste dag van de workshop aanwezig te zijn, maar toen we ’s avonds na een lange leerzame dag samen gingen eten, hoorde ik Zach praten over wat marketing zaken. Hij is ZO enthousiast over business en zei zoveel belangrijke dingen daarover, dat ik hem heb gevraagd of ik alsnog ook bij de tweede dag aanwezig kon zijn. Dat kon gelukkig en ik ben heel erg blij dat ik ook bij de tweede dag was! Ik heb duizend dingen geleerd van deze twee fantastische persoonlijkheden Zach and Jody, maar ook kon ik nog wat langer samen zijn met de superleuke fotografen die ik daar ontmoet had! Mijn dank is groot Zach and Jody Gray, dat jullie bereid waren zoveel informatie met ons te delen! Ray en Anouschka van Lifestyle Fotografie, die dit alles zo goed georganiseerd hadden, dankjewel voor jullie gastvrijheid! En dankjewel supermodellen Angela en Stephanie en aan alle fotografen die erbij waren: ik hoop jullie snel weer te zien!

This workshop was absolutely amazing! Zach and Jody Gray from Gray photography came all the way down from the United States to The Hague to teach us photographers everything about off-camera lighting the first day, and marketing the second day. Although I most often only use daylight to photograph my subjects, I thought it could be very useful to learn something about all the softboxes, lightmeters, power sources and so on. Not only was it very useful, it was a lot of fun as well, to see how different these images could turn out, just using some extra light sources! All images were captures on the middle of the day, even if they look like they were taken in the dark!
I had planned to attend only the first day of the workshop, but when we all ate dinner together after a long and meaningful day, I heard Zach talking about some marketing stuff. He is SO passionate about business and said such important things about it, that I asked them if I could join on the second day as well. So I did and I’m very glad I did! I learned a thousand things from these great personalities Zach and Jody, as well as I got to be a little longer with these awesome photographers I met the day before and some new ones!
